When I heard about Lifetime launching in SA (DStv 131) I was really psyched, because I’d heard a lot about their Lifetime Original movies and their pretty unique programming. So far, I’ve become HOPELESSLY addicted to Dance Moms – not as painfully sad as Toddlers in Tiaras, but crazy enough to be addictive.
Flowers in the Attic is one of those bizarrely dark books that just stuck with me, so when I heard that Lifetime had made a movie adaptation of it, I was really excited. I love Heather Graham and haven’t seen her in a challenging role for a while. Plus Kiernan Shipka is the insanely talented teenager you might recognise from Mad Men.
I’ve posted some interesting facts about Flowers in the Attic, in case you missed it.
While I always look forward to movie adaptations of my favourite books, there’s always the risk that they could disappoint. (Looking at you, The Hobbit…) I’ve watched the trailer on Lifetime this week, and it does seem like they’ve captured that eery, relevant, realness that the book brings.
Here’s a sneak peak of what the movie has in store for us:
Don’t forget to tune into DStv 131 at 20h00 tonight!
