I know I’m often “in the mood” for certain TV: Romcoms, sitcoms, deep and dark movies, funny series. But there isn’t often a reliable place to get EXACTLY what you want.
Well, if you don’t already know about Lifetime, you’re in for a pleasant surprise this month…
The channel is famous for shows that inspire, entertain and educate women. There are SO many channels dedicated to male-driven content, so I for one am excited about a channel for women that isn’t ONLY about makeovers and reality shows… (not that I don’t indulge sometimes, of course.)
While I’m keen to see what the channel as a whole has to offer, I’m most excited for the movie, Flowers in the Attic.
I read this book a few years ago and will never forget how it haunted me. It’s the first novel in the Dollanganger Series. I’m seldom straight-up disappointed by movie adaptations, so I’m sure the film will do the book justice. When you see the stellar cast they’ve lined up, you’ll be excited too!
To give you a synopsis of the book without ruining the story, it’s about the sudden death of a father and his four children who are hidden away in an attic by their conspiring mother and grandmother. Creepy right? And aaaaawesome!
Here’s a preview of what to expect on Lifetime, and my most anticipated movie:
If you want to find out more about this mysterious and dramatic movie, as well as see the beautiful Heather Graham in action, tune into DStv, channel 131 on 27 July at 20:00 for the premiere.
